Come to scenic Jackson County, Iowa to visit Irish Meadows Alpaca Farm, specializing in champion show quality Peruvian and Accoyo Huacayas. This 1850's farmstead has many historic red barns nestled between limestone bluffs, perfect for showcasing the beautiful alpaca.
We are centrally located, less than 3 hours from Chicago, 4 hours from Minneapolis, and 4 hours from St. Louis. We have a wonderful selection of champion huacayas. We firmly believe in improving our herd with show winning genetics, and our offspring prove this! We travel to many alpaca shows each year, and you can routinely find our offspring in banner row.
Our herdsire quality is second to none. Our selection includes 8 time champion Accoyo Marathon, 5 time champion Shades of Silver, 7 time champion 588 Peruvian Lancaster, 19 time champion Jacob Black, 9 time champion Accoyo Destinati, 6 time champion Showtime, National Champion Accoyo Express, and the list goes on!
Pair these outstanding males with our equally good females and you will have a fantastic start to your own breeding program.
Irish Meadows Alpaca Farm was awarded the 2012 and 2011 Futurity Small Breeder of the Year, an accomplishment of which we are particularly proud. We competed against the top farms in the country for this award. In both 2013 and 2014, Irish Meadows received the distinct award of Medium Breeder of the Year at the respective Futurities! In 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018, Irish Meadows received the award of Reserve Medium Breeder of the Year, and additionally, Jacob Black earned Dark Herdsire of the Year in 2018, a huge feat!
If you are looking for champion quality alpacas, look no further! We spent many hours researching our foundation females and herdsire males, and the quality on our farm will be hard to beat. It's worth the trip! We welcome visitors and love to show off our herd. Newly completed in the fall of 2011 is our guest house, a renovated bank barn from 1860. Alpaca clients needing a place to stay are welcome to a complimentary overnight stay. We also have an alpaca products store, featuring finished products from our own animals, as well as our own yarn.
Outstanding quality is our focus. Let us help it be yours!
